This and That

Just a Few Cards!

This first card uses Mo's little day dreamer. I love this image...it makes you wonder what she's thinking about.
Almost all my cards are 5" x 7", and when I cut a standard sized sheet of card stock, I always have two long, narrow pieces left over. I've got quite a stack of these scraps now, and in trying to use them up, I came up with this layout. I just wove some strips together, glued the weaving to a piece of computer paper,  and cut them out using my Cuttlebug and the Large Label Nestie die. I stitched around the edges to give it the feel of a patchwork quilt.

Card Stock: Scraps of SU! in assorted greens and turquoise and aqua.
Tool: Copics, SU! Soft Sky ink, Cuttlebug with Nestie Big Label and Mega Oval dies and embossing folders, MS Cosmo and leaf punches, Small five petal flower punch, mounting tape, Sewing machine
Embellishments: Brads, Wired gingham ribbon, Primas.

This image is from Isabella's Sketchbook. I've had it colored for a while, but just got around to putting a card together. I used up some scraps on this one, too. All the punched elements were from bits and pieces of CS.

Card stock: SU! Groovy Guava, Sage Shadow, Scraps of Certainly Celery, Barely  Banana, Guave, and Blue (?), PTI white
Patterned paper, Scrap of Basic Grey Kioshi
Tools: Copics, Prismacolor pencils, , Groovy Guava ink, Sponge dauber, Martha Stewart, Leaf, Fence, Grass and Hydrangea punches, SU! Flower Trio punch ( the five-petal  flowers was cut up into small leaves) Embossing stylus
Embellishments: Grosgrain ribbon, Yellow seed beads

This is the first of two floral Sympathy cards.

I bought this image, but, for the life of me, I can't remember where! I love violets even if they are purple. That's a color I'm not found of except in flowers!

Image: Unknown source, Computer-generated sentiment
Tools: Copics, Cuttlebug with embossing folders, Micro Pen, Creative Memories circle cutting system, Mounting tape
Card stock: Bazzil textured and SU! in shades of lavender and purple, PTI white
Embellishments: Satin ribbon, Lace, Large and small pearl cabochons, Flower charm

This image is from DZ Doodles. I'd love to have some real Japanese peonies, but I'm no longer able to do any planting, and my husband does not enjoy gardening at all, so I don't have much hope of any of my own.
Whenever I get a new floral stamp, I use Google Image to see what colors they come in, then print out a picture or two as a guide for coloring. I like to color them as realistically as possible.
I find that the MS Around the Corner punches never work for the size panel I want to use. I've solved that by punching a panel in the dimensions they give, then cutting the panel in half and adding some extra punched loops to increase the length or width. Then I just adhere the image panel on top, and it's an almost seemless 'fix'! It works with this set of punches, but I have yet to try it with others.

Images: Japanese Peony from DZ Doodles, SU! Natural Beauty butterfly,  Computer-generated sentiment
Card stock: SU! Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette, PTI white
Tools: Copics, Prismacolor pencils, Stumps, Cuttlebug with embossing folder, Martha Stewart Around the Corner punches
Embellishments: Satin Ribbon, Pearl Cabochons

Thursday starts my month as hostess for Mo's Challenge Blog! I think I have some interesting but not too difficult things for you to try! I hope you'll drop by and check them out!
