Mo's Challenge #111

The Great Outdoors!

Pat has another great theme for Mo's Challenge this week! I thought it was going to be difficult to find an appropriate image, but I found several of Mo's images that would be perfect! I settled on this one of Bella and Bronte on a camping trip. My husband takes the grand-kids camping several times every summer, just as he did with our children, so I had to get this the moment I saw it!

I used a stylus to emboss the die-cut branches and leaves to give them some texture. Looking at the card now, I wish I'd run the stars through the Cuttlebug to make them more interesting, too.

Mo's Challenge # 94

You Can Do This Easel-ly!

The challenge this week is to make an easel card that includes either a bird or animal. Mo has a few images with birds and lots with animals, so this should be a snap! 

My card is 5" x 7" when folded, so I had to figure out the measurements on my own. If you're interested,  just ask, and I'll be happy to share.

Graduations

Congratulations, Grads!

We have three female graduates in the family this year...one niece graduating form college, one from high school, and a step granddaughter graduating from high school.

May and June are busy months for all kinds of card-giving occasions, and I seem to have lost my mojo! I've made two grad cards so far, and I'm not crazy about either of them ! I'm hoping the third one will be the charm! LOL!

This first card uses Mo's "Glad Grad Girl." A boy is available, too!

I made the gardenia with a McGill punch I just got from Joanns. This was the first flower, and it was quite a little work to make. I'm hoping they'll be easier, the more I do. I think the key will be to find a glue that sets up a bit quicker to eliminate the  problem of the petals  moving out of position.

I like this card a little better, but I had a little trouble with the Prismacolor pencil I used for the sky. I really don't like the splotchy look I got, and nothing seemed to work to even it out. Anyone have any ideas!?

The blue embossed CS and the red CS frame behind it are popped up off the image panel with  mounting tape to give some depth to the card.

Hearts & Flowers

Be My Valentine!

I love Valentine's Day with all the pink, red, and white, the lace, hearts, and flowers! I'm not usually someone who goes for frills, but I make an exception for this holiday!

My daughter-in-law sells my cards in her shop, and has been after me for Valentines. I recently sat down and colored a bunch of images, then started putting the cards together. The following are just a few that I've finished so far. More to come in the next week!

Gingham Galore!

Mo's Challenge # 63

Welcoming the New Year!

The challenge at Mo's this week is "Bless the Beasts and Children". We were to use images of children and animals in our projects. This was an easy one as Mo has so many cute images of children with animals of all kinds! You could also merge images.

I've used the image of Bella and Bronte as babies. Aren't they cute?!

This post is short and sweet as I'm really late finishing this card. I've been on school vacation for the holidays and really haven't felt much like coloring. I think something must be wrong with me! My Muse has deserted me, and I'm just not motivated at all. I'd better get going soon because I need to make a lot of cards! My stock is very low, and my customers are asking for more birthday, get well, and sympathy cards.

Mo's Challenge # 46

The Witching Hour

The challenge Peggy has for us this week is to use an image by Mo and make something for Halloween.

A card I made with this image was the very first card posted on this site, so this little witch has a special place in my heart!

I wasn't entirely happy with my coloring on this and not too sure about how the card would turn out, but it kept evolving, and I love the finished product! 

I've had the black and white polka dot brads for months and have been waiting for a reason to use them. I think they're perfect for the centers of these funky flowers! 

The largest Primas I used weren't the right color, so I used my Copics to customize them to match her dress.

I'm back at school as of Tuesday and the kids started Wednesday. I enjoyed such a lazy, relaxing summer that I don't know how I'm going to re-adjust to the daily school regimen!

I get up at 5:30 every day anyway, but during the summer I go to bed very late and take a nap when I start to flag during the day....that is no longer possible once school has started. I'll have to keep myself from falling asleep at my desk! They frown on snoring during class!

Have fun with this challenge! Mo has several new images for the holiday...even the new Tin Man and Scarecrow from her Wizard of Oz series would work. In fact, I'm probably going to use them myself for our grandsons' cards this year.

Mo's Callenge # 44

A Color Inspiration

Aren't these colors wonderful?! Peggy has chosen this photo to inspire us this week. Just looking at these colors makes me happy! 

I made two cards for this week's challenge using two different color combinations from the photo.

The first merges two of Mo's wonderful images, the straight-haired version of "To the Beach" and "Jeffy in July".  I knew as soon as I saw them that they'd go together well, but several others had the same idea and beat me to it!
I used mostly yellow and orange on this, real hot summer colors, perfect for a beach scene.
The brown panels are  pieces of cardboard that I colored with Copics.
